Digital Hardware Engineer
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSEE with 7+ years of hardware design experience.
- Solid understanding of wireless technologies.
- Experienced in digital (discrete, microprocessor, microcontroller, DSP, FPGA, etc.) design, prototyping, implementation, debugging, characterization testing and performance testing.
- Experience in signal integrity and EMI-mitigation design practices.
- Implementation of baseband wireless communications algorithms.
- Experience in design of mixed-technology (digital/R.F.) products.
- Background in wireless sensor modules and systems.
- Proficient with engineering software.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
- Strong background in product development.
- Excellent problem solving, logic and analytical skills.
Following Qualifications a Plus:
- MSEE.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and testing.
- Demonstrated Engineering project leadership experience.
- Ability to code firmware to test basic design functionality, without the aid of a dedicated firmware engineer.
- Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Xilinx System Generator.
- Familiarity with software-defined radio designs.
- Familiarity with DOCSIS requirements.
R.F./Digital Research Technician
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent.
- Experienced in laboratory debugging, characterization and troubleshooting of digital/R.F./analog circuits and components.
- Proficient in the use of digital/R.F./analog test and measurement equipment, e.g. logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meter, network analyzer, CW and modulated signal sources, vector signal analyzer, noise figure meter and oscilloscope.
- Practical knowledge of RF measurement and calibration techniques, RF impedance-matching techniques and digital timing-analysis.
- Proficient in data compilation and analysis with PC spreadsheet tools.
- Background in debugging single-board, mixed-technology (digital/R.F.) circuit card assemblies.
Following Qualifications a Plus:
- Circuit design experience.
- Familiar with the use of test-automation tools, e.g. Labview™, VeePro™, or VisualBasic.
- Background in sensor instrumentation.
- LPKF board construction experience.
- Basic environmental testing.
- Familiarity with Matlab.
- Validation-test experience.
- Assisting in the development of test procedures.
- Experience in the laboratory-to-production transition process.
- Customer support.
R.F Engineering Consultant (part-time)
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSEE required, MSEE preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in conceptualization, R.F. analysis, modeling, simulation, design, development and verification-testing.
- Experienced with mixed-technology (RF/digital) board-level designs utilizing simulation tools.
- Solid background in manufacturable designs for high-volume production (low-cost and reliable).
- Characterization measurements (noise figure, power, phase noise, S-parameters, EVM, sensitivity, blocking, interference, IMD, etc.)
- Requirements-definition.
- Specification development.
- Experienced in working as a member of an integrated product-development team.
- Solid communication skills and demonstrated ability to produce high-value engineering reports.
- An enthusiastic, team-player with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Skilled customer interaction.
- Good estimating skills.
Following Qualifications a Plus:
- Experienced with HP GENESYS (Eagleware), Matlab/Simulink.
- Familiarity with DOCSIS Requirements.
- Experience in addressing multi-band, co-site interference challenges.
- LPFK board construction experience.
- Antenna design.
- Familiarity with Software-Defined-Radio designs.
- Digital design experience.
